This was Roberto Roena y Su Apollo Sound's comeback recording (nearly three years after the band's last recording as a group). Producer/ex-member Julio Gunda Merced gives the production a royal treatment, with the help of singers from the label (Tito Rojas, Maelo Ruiz, Puerto Rican Power's lead vocalist Osvaldo Román, Luisito Carrión, and Andy Montañez in a special cameo) who cheerfully join in on two hit medleys. One of the band's former vocalists, Papo Sánchez, also rejoins the group, and shines on "Los Caminos de Mi Gente" and "Por Que Te Niegas"; Hector "Tempo" Alomar's vocals shine on the title cut. A welcome return, with Elías Lopés, Luis "Perico" Ortiz, David "Piro" Rodríguez, Rafael "Tito" DeGracia, and bandleader Roena on solos. ~ José A. Estévez, Jr., Rovi
