Details

[Edit]

Though he's been down with the Brooklyn powerhouse Boot Camp Clik for many years, Ruste Juxx still doesn't have the name recognition as BCC brethren Black Moon and Smif-N-Wessun. But he's been extremely busy as of late and is finally starting to shine as a star in his own right. Following up a pair of exceptional collaboration albums (The eXXecution with Marco Polo and Indestructible with Sean Price), RJ steps out with the official solo album Adamantine, serving up 14 tracks overflowing with breakneck beatwork and unapologetically grimy rhymes. While there's no shortage of features here (from Skyzoo, Supreme, Reel, Ill Bill, Steele, Torae, Cyrus Malachi, Sledge, 34 Click, Skanks, Reek, etc.), Rustee himself remains clearly in command, spitting defiant, no-nonsense bars and impressing throughout. Whether you've been a hardcore Boot Camp fan from day one or just have a taste for bang-bang BK hip-hop, this is exactly what you've been looking for. Check out "Music to My Earz," "How U Selling That," "Rap Assassins," and "Killa Crown Heights."
