Details
[Edit]Recorded in one marathon 24-hour studio session, All in a Day's Work finds New York underground mainstay Saigon joining forces with rapidly rising Massachusetts producer Statik Selektah, best known for his loop-driven work with Termanology, Bumpy Knuckles, Freeway, and Freddie Gibbs. Recorded and released in 2008, as fans were patiently waiting on Sai's The Greatest Story Never Told, this is a exceptional effort that belies its rapid-fire creation. Short but sweet, it clocks in at just more than 30 minutes but still plays better than most official albums. Statik's chop-heavy, neck-bending production is on-point throughout (combining soul-drenched samples with impossibly live drums and great hooks) while Saigon proves why he was one of the game's most eagerly anticipated wordsmiths. With no guest features, no skits, and no filler, this is how a record should be done. Don't miss "My Crew," "Lady Sings the Blues," "The Rules," and "The Reason."
