Outfolding

Outfolding is quite possibly one of Saul Stokes' finest offerings. This disc is another great disc to come out of the Saul Stokes/Hypnos Recordings relationship, and it's an excellent Saul Stokes disc that's an equally fantastic Hypnos Recordings disc and consists of a similar sound. Saul Stokes' Outfolding has a great sound; the homemade synthesizers that Saul Stokes used to create this work seem to breathe with organic life, thus making this one his first truly organic recordings. There are various rhythms on this recording, but the blend between rhythm and harmony is a near-perfect mix, and the two opposing elements, at least as far as a contemplative music goes, come off perfectly. Saul Stokes has created an indispensable disc and one that breathes much more than any of his other works. Aesthetically Saul Stokes' Outfolding is sound, original, and hard to match against any of the other contemplative electronic recordings out there. Truly a great work.
