A legendary lyricist who commands respect from coast to coast, Scarface was a founding member of Houston hip-hop pioneers The Geto Boys and is among the most influential wordsmiths in the game's history. With his instantly recognizable voice and always-deep storytelling, he's arguably the most important Southern rapper of all time and continues to record after almost three decades in the business. Originally released in 1994, The Diary is one of Scarface's best solo albums. It debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard album chart, easily went platinum, and includes the hit singles "I Seen a Man Die" and "Hand of a Dead Body," featuring Ice Cube and a very young Devin the Dude. Produced by N.O. Joe and Mike Dean, it's got that classic, soulful H-Town flavor, with plenty of live instrumentation and watery keys supporting his exceptionally vivid verses about life, death, honor, and vengeance.
