With Schiller's discography being massive, this well-informed best-of makes for an easy and excellent introduction. The two distinct sides of Schiller — essentially German producer Christopher von Deylen and his chosen helpers — are represented by the big hits "Dream of You" (vocal trance, as dreamy and soft as the song title implies) and "Summernight" (instrumental, soundtrack-like trance with keen awareness of techno). Everything else fills in the details as the self-titled anthem "Schiller" lays some spacy, Kraftwerk-like vocals on top while "You" with Colbie Caillat explores the same sensual and sullen landscape found on later Depeche Mode albums. "Ruhe" represents the more exotic, Deep Forest-type music in the project's back catalog, but all these comparisons don't touch on the patience (tracks are allowed to develop for as long as they require) and reserved nature (everything sways and nothing startles) that are identifiably Schiller.
