[Edit]The second of two LPs from the French Jazz Anthology label that contain piano rolls "recorded" by Scott Joplin mostly features the innovative ragtime composer in his prime on such numbers as "Peacherine Rag," "The Sycamore," "Original Rags" and "Sunflower Slow Drag." However, this album ends with a scary performance, a version of "Maple Leaf Rag" from 1916 (one year before the composer's death) that shows just how much deterioration had taken place after Joplin contracted syphilis.
