Details
[Edit]Serah's record company and publicist described Flight of the Stork as a new age album, but in truth, she falls more into the singer-songwriter category. Although Serah's representatives obviously saw the "new age" label as a convenient marketing tool, this conceptual, atmospheric CD is best described as acoustic-oriented folk-pop. Consistently tranquil and pastoral, Serah's music does have a calm and reflective spirituality that some may equate with the new age movement. But while a lot of new age serves primarily as background music, Serah's lyrics inspire the listener to think and pay close attention. For all their delicacy, songs like "White Rose," "New Moon" and "Above the Shadow" are too substantial to be relegated to the background.
