[Edit]A quite remarkable album that will hardly be noticed due to the extremely personal approach by the composer/musician Sérgio Molina, who puts the importance of expression over commercial aspects. Wonderfully and professionally performed by everyone involved, the album incorporates elements of jazz and erudite music along with MPB. Classics like "Fé Cega, Faca Amolada" (Milton Nascimento/Ronaldo Bastos) and "Samba de Uma Nota Só" (Tom Jobim/Newton Mendonça) are really renovated in a creative rendition, while originals like the sambas "Ontem," "Uma Razão," and "Ariano" (subtle criticism against the cultural industry) evidence a solid musical formation in coexistence with intelligent lyrics expressing definite ideas.
