[Edit]What better way for a band to celebrate their tenth anniversary than with a concert! That's exactly what Side A did in late 1995 at the spacious Cuneta Astrodome in Pasay City, near Manila, and it was recorded for posterity on Side A Live: The 10th Anniversary Concert. Side A is one of the Philippines' most popular bands, and also one of the longest-lasting, as many bands here don't reach their tenth anniversary, let alone celebrate it with an album. Side A's studio albums are dominated by ballads, but this anniversary album contains a number of upbeat songs, including an energetic version of James Taylor's "Whenever I See Your Smiling Face" and an entertaining rendition of a Side A original, "Sabi-Sabi" (Rumors), among others. Many of the group's famous love songs are heard here, including the tender "Forevermore" and "By Your Side," both composed by bandmember Joey Benin. A medley of three Philippine-composed love songs includes one of the band's biggest hits, the Louie Ocampo/Alan Ayque-composed "Tell Me," recorded years earlier by another artist and made popular once again by Side A. Judging by the screams, the audience enjoyed themselves immensely that night. The band's performance throughout the album is relaxed, professional, and even a bit funky on the upbeat numbers. This is a nice addition to Side A's catalog of studio albums.
