Details
[Edit]To peg Silicon Soul as experimental electro might be a little misleading since they made electro-pop that was wholly pop — yet they frequently ignored the verse-chorus-verse format, instead relying on amorphous synth-based constructions that entrancing vocalist Olgalyn Jolly used to propel her recited lyrics. The endless burbling and tinny production values can be energy-sucking, but anyone who likes the idea of a New York-based Young Marble Giants will be knocked out by the first listen. Disko B reissued the album in 2003, which was fitting; back in 1991, the label's first release was a reissue of the duo's 1981 single "Who Needs Sleep Tonight," which became a minor sensation in Europe.
