Details
[Edit]Simon & Garfunkel's fifth and final studio album, Bridge over Troubled Water, also suggests where songwriter Paul Simon heard his music heading as a solo act: ambitious rhythms, explorative orchestration, and melodies that had little or less need for harmonies. Yet, the album made full use of Art Garfunkel’s gorgeous voice, as the title track could only reach its dramatic heights with his empathy and range. “The Boxer” became the album’s other commercial peak. Artistically, it excelled as well as the album’s other key points, “So Long, Frank Lloyd Wright,” “The Only Living Boy in New York," and “Song for the Asking.”
