[Edit]This six-track remix album reassembles Slicker's Confidence in Duber via the post-production of an assortment of post-rock/electronica figures, most notably Richard Devine, Casey Rice (aka Super ESP), and Matmos. The disc opens with Devine's contribution, an intricately programmed homage to Mouse on Mars and Autechre executed with help from partner Sherren. Next comes Casey Rice's Super ESP remix, a lo-fi drum'n'bass number using a variety of extraneous audio trash cut'n'pasted into a highly original production. Among considerable competition, San Francisco's Matmos contributes the highlight; their remix is also heavy on the cut'n'paste, but with various sections shifting from a focus on old-school drums and vocal samples to white noise to tabla drumming and surprisingly deep trip-hop grooves. Thanks to a great roster of remixers, Slicker's Remixes arguably bests the album it's sourced from.
