Details
[Edit]The second album is often a difficult bet. While on a first record, a band puts together songs they have been playing for a while; for the second production they have to write songs in the urgency. The result is usually the same: they come up with an album that is more even than the first. Sometimes it is for the best, sometimes for the worst. And if Planet of Tubes gives a general feeling of unity (in the sound, composition, production), in depth there big differences between the songs. Some are first quality rated, such as "Idolize," "Chocolate Sperm," "Saw," and "Arms," but some are more anecdotal. Despite the disparities, the album remains a good Sloy album, with the spirit of Plug and the first EPs. It rocks and moves you. Albini is still in the shadow making sure everything is all right. It was also a huge pool of compositions for the band to play live, but some may miss the ingenious use of the samples and the spontaneity of Plug.
