Three years after releasing Confessin' a Feeling, Sly, Slick & Wicked (SSW) returns with more moldy oldies. The mundane title track "Tonight's the Nite," dropped in 1976, and features Sonny Daye (a.k.a. Thomas Hawkins) and Ron Crowder. Freddie Davis' satiny falsetto sounds fresh on "Not on the Outside" (Moments), and "This Can't Be True Girl" (Eddie Holman). Founding member Larry Lewis leads "Me and You (You and I)," an obscure Younghearts recording, and "I'm Still Here." SSW perform two Marvelows' songs: "I'm Without a Girl," and the harmonious "When the Morning Comes" the LP's best track. Smoldering versions of Betty Everett's "There'll Come a Time," Billy Stewart's "Sitting In the Park" and the Incredibles' sobbing "I'll Make It Easy" are first class pleasers.
