Details
[Edit]Although glam rock's sci-fi edge was lost by the time second wave acts began scurrying out of the Sunset Strip during the '80s, such early-'70s glam groundbreakers as David Bowie certainly had a thing for space (Ziggy Stardust, anyone?). And despite being part of the '80s L.A. glam scene, it also turns out that singer/guitarist Lizzie Grey shared Bowie's interest in things that occur in faraway galaxies, as evidenced by his 1995 release, Oddities: The Glitter Years. Grey had penned a mini sci-fi novel around this time (which is included as a booklet with Oddities), and the songs apparently fit in with the whole space age concept, including "The Glitter Years." Also included is a pair of songs produced by notorious L.A. songwriter/scenester Kim Fowley, "Wild in the Night," as well as a cover of the Sweet's "Little Willy."
