This is the third release from the Adelaide, Australia-based band Spiral Dance. With song titles like "Magick," "Faerie Tale," "Pan," and "Witch's Rune," it's no surprise that their lyrical themes center around magic, legend, and mysticism. Lead vocalist Adrienne Piggott, who also writes most of their material, is backed by flute, accordion, and bodhran in addition to the standard guitar, bass, and drums lineup. This recording has a noticeably early-'70s folk-rock and acoustic-pop sound, comparable to Mellow Candle or even the mid- to late-'70s band Spriguns.
