[Edit]The second EP of a trilogy, #2 follows the expectations of SQURL’s first EP, loaded as it is with loud, feedback-drenched guitar riffs. The curiosity/draw here is that this trio, formerly known as Bad Rabbit, is led by independent filmmaker Jim Jarmusch (Only Lovers Left Alive). Working with drummer Carter Logan and guitarist/engineer Shane Stoneback, Jarmusch actualizes the musical end of his defined aesthetic. It's minimalist, raw, and steeped in underground music’s view of rock ’n’ roll. Even Hank Williams’ classic “I’m So Lonesome I Could Cry” gets the SQURL treatment. Yeah Yeah Yeah’s Nick Zinner provides a valuable alternate mix.
