[Edit]Originally released on London Phase 4, these two sessions by British composer and conductor Stanley Black have been reissued for the first time on CD by Dutton Vocalion. Both sets are pleasant orchestral pop with Latin overtones. Intimate Percussion, from 1961, collects such standards as "When I Fall in Love," "Memories Are Made of This," and "Mack the Knife," while Exotic Percussion, released in 1962, was Black's best-selling record in the States and includes "Jungle Drums," "Temptation," and Duke Ellington's "Caravan." This two-fer would make perfect background music at your next party.
