Details
[Edit]This Castle release compiles Stefan Grossman material from the 1960s when he was getting his music into the general public ear for the first time. Rory Block is owed some credit here as an influence, at the very least. Nonetheless, this collection of originals and covers is solid American blues, ragtime, and even some swing. The bottleneck material included, such as "Roll and Tumble Blues" and "Kokomo," is the most satisfying, and his fine fingerpicking style fares far better on the instrumental material. This is a man who should never sing. Period.
