Stephen Kent plays the didgeridoo "with the greatest respect for the Australian Aboriginal people and in the spirit of all first-nation peoples and our common relationship to the earth." He also donates a percentage of the proceeds from his recordings to Aboriginal communities. Such class makes purchasing and listening to this CD just a little more enjoyable. Landing is Kent's solo debut. Four of the ten tracks are solo didg pieces. The accompaniment on the other tracks is largely acoustic and ethnic in nature. The vocals are guttural, primal chants. This is a deep, contemplative set. Kent takes full advantage of the didg's eclectic sound and the atmospheres are wide. This CD will appeal to fans of Steve Roach, Adam Plack, Kenneth Newby, and David Hudson. It is essential for collectors of didg music and world fusion. Casual fans might find it interesting.
