Details
[Edit]Wild Iris is a natural collaboration between the flute — courtesy of Steve Kujala — and the Celtic harp of Kim Robertson. These instruments have tremendous range and versatility. Their natural timbres create deep atmospheres. Robertson's style, usually more subdued, is quite aggressive — and quite appealing — on this CD. Unencumbered by accompaniment and production concerns, she lets it fly and it soars. Kujala's flute is the perfect companion for her deep sonority. This is an exciting performance. It will appeal to fans of Susan Craig Winsberg, Lisa Lynne, Loreena McKennitt, and Patricia Spero.
