[Edit]Steve Lawrence's fifth and final Coral effort boasts a depth and maturity absent from his previous LPs. Recorded just months after his marriage to Eydie Gorme, All About Love is a collection of romantic songs interpreted by a singer fully coming to grips with the realities of l'amour, channeling his passion and affection to create the finest music of his career to date. Working in tandem with arranger Nick Perito, Lawrence proves as adept with the more upbeat, jazz-inspired numbers as he does with the ballads, bringing a fresh new perspective to familiar lyrics like "Love Is a Season" and "Hooray for Love." He also proves a crooner of surprising intimacy, eschewing the showbiz gimmickry that hampers so many of his later records to reveal genuine poignancy.
