[Edit]Steve Tyrell mines the rich vein of the Brill Building and ‘60s pop for his 11th album. The singer’s gravelly voice works well for these songs, yet there’s also a comfort with material that really sells it. Joined by a wide range of special guests, the highlights include “You’ve Lost That Loving Feeling” with The Righteous Brothers' Bill Medley and “Laughter in the Rain” with Neil Sedaka. More introspective (but no less inspired) is the acoustic guitar on “Rock and Roll Lullaby” with old pal B.J. Thomas. Fans will find much to like here from this consummate crowd-pleaser.
