Details
[Edit]New age Celtic fusion artists perform a more organic blend of updated traditional music than most of their contemporaries, making for a full and earthy sound, with select contemporary flourishes. The introduction to the opening track ("Alchemy/Haste to the Wedding/Irish Day") has the unfortunate luck of sounding strikingly similar to Bon Jovi's "Wanted Dead or Alive," but quickly gives way to a bright and rousing reel and an impassioned vocal harmony from Lauren Buffington-Jones, saving the song instantly. These Salt Lake City natives often rely a little too heavily on studio reverb and effect-laden guitar, but do manage to create an engaging and transportive set of original instrumentals and sung pieces, handily combining new and old musical influences for an engaging listen.
