[Edit]Based in Southern California, Suburban Noize Records was founded by Brad Xavior (singer for Kottonmouth Kings) and has been putting out an unusual hybrid of punk and rap since 1995. This massive 28-track compilation features a wide assortment of obscure homegrown acts, as well as internationally known superstars. Sonically, most of the tracks are cut from a kind of Insane Clown Posse-esque cloth (i.e. heavy hip-hop and heavier rock). Kansas City indie icon Tech N9ne appears on 11 tracks, while Kottonmouth Kings are showcased on 13. Buzzsaw guitars, trunk-rattling bass, and hard-knocking beats dominate the production, while the rhymes generally focus on various forms of inebriation, fan encounters, and recreational brain-cell damage. Other guests include Potluck, Twiztid, ICP, and Hed (PE), plus well-established hip-hop vets X Clan and Swollen Members. Though it's clearly not for everyone, this is right up your face-painted alley if you're even a casual Juggalo. Check out "Sex Toy," "Smoke the Pain Away," and "Boom Clap Sound."
