[Edit]Sue Keller is best-known as a fine ragtime/stride pianist who occasionally sings. On this rather diverse set of Christmas-related songs, she is an okay singer who plays piano here and there. The repertoire includes a few old favorites, three of her originals, and material from Vince Guaraldi, Joni Mitchell and Steve Allen, among others. Ranging from swinging jazz to folk-rock, novelties to rock & roll, this program constantly keeps one guessing. Occasionally Keller is joined by two background singers, guitar and drums, but she is mostly the whole show. In addition to her joyful spirit, the many obscure but viable Christmas songs are a major plus.
