[Edit]Released in 2010, American Idol competitor and soul singer Sway Peñala's My Story is an ode to the history of soul. Peñala takes a special interest in urban contemporary soul here, covering a variety of styles. By the end of the album, Peñala has paid tribute to nearly every important singer or style from the '80s and '90s. Though the album didn't make major waves in the U.S. market, digital sales pushed it to the top of digital soul charts and the top of digital Japanese charts soon after its release.
