[Edit]Debut album from English experimental art rock band, originally released in 2005 to wide critical acclaim, here reissued by their new label KScope, remastered and with new artwork. Entirely self-recorded, partially in a garden shed, it shows the beginnings of their unique "thrash pastel" sound combining elements of folktronica, Americana, art rock, pop, and prog. Already almost fully formed from the start, it was a sound they would go on to refine over three further albums, the second of which, 2009's Twice Born Men, was nominated for the prestigious Mercury Prize. ~ John D.
