Details
[Edit]Tammy Trent keeps the beat as she stay true to the Spirit on Sunny Days, her first album in five years. Back in the mid-‘90s, she proved herself adept at delivering infectious grooves while singing the Lord’s praises in hits like “Your Love Is 4 Always” and “Someone 2 Love.” Trent’s music has matured since then, but her feel for pop hooks and R&B-influenced rhythms has never left her. Sunny Days moves her in a more contemporary direction with touches of electronica, heard in the sleek glide and throb of “We’re Letting Go” and “Stronger Now.” There’s an almost giddy quality to Trent’s celebration of God’s redemptive power; tunes like “Glow in the Dark” and “Fall at Your Feet” sparkle as she invites listeners to worship with her. “You’ll Come” and “Don’t Let Him Be the Last to Know” introduce an acoustic country element into Trent’s sound. Longtime fans will recognize her 1997 hit “Welcome Home,” reimagined here as a modern dance pop tune. Throughout, Trent keeps the accent on the positive as she honors her Creator. Sunny Days is a welcome return by one of Christian music’s most engaging artists.
