[Edit]Killing Time features pop-punk blasts from former Passion Pit synth-sampler man Ayad Al Adhamy. The change to a full guitar-led attack is so radical for him that it’s as if he woke up one night in a sweat and was told to repent for his electronica ways. Where Passion Pit searched for proprietary formulas to push the boundaries of indie rock, electronica, and pop, Team Spirit are pure old school, channeling Cheap Trick and The Hold Steady (who channel AC/DC and Thin Lizzy). “Surrender,” “Satisfaction,” “Teenage Heart,” and “Closer” do a remarkably good job of turning up the amps and letting guitar riffs fly.
