Keeping up with rapper Tech N9ne's discography is daunting since he issues albums, EPs, extras, and other whatnot at quite a clip, but this almost-LP, closer-to-EP (that fat track list features plenty of skits) deserves to stand out. Here, the formerly sorta-rock-rap artist goes completely RAWK-rap, teaming with Korn cohort/producer Ross Robinson and reaching another level of inspiration in the process. The volcanic "Public School" with guest Krizz Kaliko is a Korn-sized stomper that features sitars and a whirlwind of other great ideas, while the clever "Hiccup" features tribal drums, the sound of paranoia being strangled by paranoia, plus the guttural utterance featured in the song's title, which just happens to supply the hook. The supportive numbers are nearly as strong as the highlights, plus the skits whiz by fast enough, allowing the listener some time to deal with the adrenaline overdose. To easily slide into a different genre is one thing, but to set off fireworks while doing so is something else. Only bad news about this Therapy session is that it's a creative, cathartic blast that ends way too soon.
