Details
[Edit]Techno Bass Crew were one of the few acts in the bass music scene to forgo the booty rap approach and instead build spacious tracks that may have centered around low bass tones, but also stood as interesting ambient pieces as well. Nothing here could make it onto a Brian Eno disc, but there are certainly worse ways to test car stereos than to utilize Classic Techno Bass. Tracks like "Bass Transmission" have a low-rent Meat Beat Manifesto feel about them that is oddly endearing, while "Bass Bringt Mich in Schwung" is a sensual, Lords of Acid-style jam that replaces that group's lustful poetry with lyrics about bass music. Although it is hopelessly outclassed when viewed as an album of electronic soundscapes, it is a shining achievement in the world of bass music, where the continuous use of the word "bass" and a subwoofer-destroying beat are all you can usually expect.
