Details
[Edit]The extroverted Dixieland trumpeter Teddy Buckner recorded a series of fun albums for Dixieland Jubilee (a subsidiary of GNP/Crescendo) during the mid- to late '50s, most of which have not been reissued on CD. This particular LP was one of his last before he started working regularly at Disneyland. Joined by a spirited group that includes trombonist John "Streamline" Ewing and Count Basie veteran Caughey Roberts on clarinet, Buckner mostly sticks to Dixieland standards such as "Original Dixieland One Step," "China Boy," "Mack the Knife," and a lengthy "Down in Jungletown." Teddy Buckner was never a great original, but he believed in his music and had impressive range and power.
