Details
[Edit]As They Are is a rare easy listening romantic pop LP by the male/female duo of Tee & Cara, with traces, but no more, of rock and folk influences. The voices and melodies on these subdued, lightly orchestrated songs are pleasant but anodyne. It seems possible from the tone of the harmonies that the pair might have played folk music at one point, though that's not certain. It's music for watching the sunsets on your hotel patio, though hardly in the top notch of that category, sometimes with a slight bittersweet bossa nova feel. Though this is mostly in the adult pop (or perhaps "young adult pop") mold, occasionally they sound a little like a band such as the We Five when the orchestra takes a break, mild percussion comes in, and guitars come more to the forefront, as they do on "Steppin' in Time" and "I Got Plenty o' Nuttin'" (which the We Five themselves did on their first album).
