Details
[Edit]The 101 Strings Orchestra's Science Fiction Movie Music delivers just what the title promises — ten contemporary and classic sci-fi themes, including Mark Snow's "X-Files Theme" and James Horner's theme for Cocoon. The orchestra is at its best on the more straightforward pieces of music, such the introduction to Richard Strauss' Also Sprach Zarathustra used in 2001: A Space Odyssey and Jerry Goldsmith's theme for Total Recall; the versions of Danny Elfman's "Men in Black" and "Twilight Zone, the TV Series" just aren't as distinctive as they should be. Still, Science Fiction Movie Music is a reasonably entertaining, well-made compilation even if it doesn't include any original recordings.
