This 30-song double-CD set, from the German budget label Pazzazz, is about as good as any compilation ever put together on Amen Corner, at least as far as musical content goes. Disc one, subtitled "Hello Susie," encompasses their hits, interspersed with various live sides, while Disc two — subtitled "High in the Sky" — is also made up, in part, of concert material, interspersed with studio sides. It's all a great way to discover this lightweight but entertaining band, whose repertory was heavy on American soul and R&B, and the voice of Andy Fairweather-Low, who has endured across the decades since as one of British pop/rock's most enduring talents. The sound is very good and the annotation minimal, but music speaks quite well for itself.
