House/garage darling Chris Brann took his profile to new heights with his Ananda Project debut album, Release. Now he follows with the mandatory remix album, featuring heavy hitters King Britt, Blaze, and Lil' Louis Vega contributing individual reworkings of original album tracks. While there is undoubtedly some quality music on this disc, notably the early morning heartbeat rhythm of "Falling for You — G-Pal's Child of the Sun Mix," the vibe never strays far from the original Release. So while these remixes make perfect sense in the context of a DJ looking for a slightly different twist to move the crowd, the CD makes you wonder if anyone would ever actually pick up both discs and ask, "Am I in the mood for Release or Re-Release?"
