Details
[Edit]The Baby Einstein series continues with Lullaby Classics, a collection of lullabies from some of classical music's best-known composers. The album begins with an aptly sparkling rendition of Mozart's Variations (Twinkle, Twinkle) K265/300e; his Piano Sonata in D, K 576, 3rd Movement and Piano Sonata in C, K 545, 2nd Movement get similar treatment. Gentle pianos, harps, woodwinds, and keyboards give the album its restful but slightly playful sound, which works especially well on Mendelssohn's Spring Song, Bach's Minuet in G From Anna Magdalena, and Pachelbel's Canon. The collection also features several other well-known pieces, including Debussy's Preludes Book II, Clair de Lune, Vivaldi's The Four Seasons, Winter, RV267, 2nd Movement, Beethoven's Für Elise, Woo 59, and, of course, Brahms' Waltz No. 15, Lullaby. While the album is on the long side, Baby Einstein: Lullaby Classics is a restful, useful addition to any baby's — or adult's, for that matter — record collection.
