Details
[Edit]The Black Crowes were never able to match the mainstream commercial success of their first album, 1990's Shake Your Money Maker, even as they gained respect and hardcore fans. This greatest-hits album collects material from The Black Crowes' first five albums and contains nearly every song a casual fan would want. The four tracks from Money Maker—"Jealous Again," "Twice As Hard," "Hard to Handle," "She Talks to Angels"—are essential listening, and the four from The Southern Harmony and Musical Companion—"Remedy," "Sting Me," "Thorn in My Pride," "Bad Luck Blue Eyes Goodbye"—show the Crowes achieving their own identity. Two tunes apiece from Amorica and Three Snakes and One Charm show the band branching out stylistically, while the four tunes from By Your Side signal The Black Crowes' need to satisfy their record label with some serious rock.
