In 1964, Dave Clark Five's raucous beat-driven pop was the only rival to the Beatles' nascent British Invasion. Over the course of their short career (they disbanded in 1970), they created songs that would go on to sell over one hundred million copies. Driven by Dave Clark's front-and-center drumming and Mike Smith's gravelly unhinged vocals, the group knocked out hits like "Bits and Pieces", Glad All Over" and "Because" - hitting the American top 40 over a dozen other times in a three year period. The influence of this hard-working, no-frills, beat-tastic five-piece group can be heard in anyone who espouses a love of pure, energetic rock 'n' roll. This superb collection also boasts a digital booklet which does a great job of putting the band in the context they deserve.
