[Edit]A year after founder Chris Fogal split up the Gamits for good, the band's entire output gets commemorated in this limited-edition four-CD box. Leading off with the scorching, hook-saturated 2004 swan song Antidote, fans and curiosity seekers looking to retrace the group's steps can do no wrong, thanks to the presence of all of the Gamits' discs. From the pop-punk outfit's 1996 debut album, Come Get Some (with melodic winners like "I Named Her Christina" and "Wholesome Girl"), and the subsequent 1998 EP This Is My Boomstick, up to the trio's sparking farewell gig, catching up with the group is almost always rewarding. If covers of songs by the Outfield, REO Speedwagon, and Jackson Browne are fun, tongue-in-cheek bonuses, the roar of winners like "Last of the Mullets" and "Don't Make Me Show You" assert that Fogal could have been a contender if his stars had only been aligned. ~ John D.
