Former Sinister Six screamer Doug White's subsequent project positively reeks of Seattle; co-produced by Tim Kerr and Jack Endino, released on seminal underground indie Empty Records, and sounding like a perfect marriage of Mudhoney's lo-fi retro rawk (emphasis on raw) and the straightforward, catchy punk of the early Supersuckers material, the Gloryholes' debut keeps the region fresh in the minds of those who haven't abandoned it. As for those who have, well, it's their loss. Even if the music here is substandard — which it's not — the disc is worth owning for the wonderfully irreverent album cover. ~ Brian O'Neill, Rovi
