Details
[Edit]Paul Fenech's mind has been stuck on horror movies and cartoons for a couple of decades now, and although his records with his group the Meteors have been called psychobilly and unhinged, there's something a little bit predictable and studied about it all, not unlike the movie genres he favors, and when one hears this stuff spread over five discs like this, it's quickly obvious that Fenech started out in one gear and then never shifted into another one. That's fine if you like what he does, but five discs of amped-up songs about werewolves and chainsaw killers gets old pretty fast if you don't. Everything here marches to the same drummer, but occasional tracks stand out, including "Johnny Remember Me," "Love You to Death," "Chainsaw Boogie," "Sewertime Blues," and the perhaps aptly titled "You Ain't Right." Fans of the Meteors will find this expansive set a goldmine. Most folks, though, will feel like they wandered into an after school cartoon film festival.
