Pairing the Muppets with classic and original Christmas songs is a good enough idea that even The Muppets Green and Red Christmas' more obvious moments, like Miss Piggy's version of "Santa Baby," are still pretty fun. The more inspired tracks, such as Electric Mayhem Band's swinging take on "'Zat You, Santa Claus?" and Fozzie Bear, Statler & Waldorf's goofy sketch-song "North Pole Comedy Club," will delight Muppets fans of all ages. A little too much schmaltziness and slickness keep this album from the brilliantly quirky, sweet heights of the Muppets' best albums, but it's still enjoyable.
