[Edit]The New Grand's style of mod-influenced pop/punk is certainly driving and hooky enough for Incognito to earn the band some fans — there's not much room to complain about this tight and well-crafted collection of rock songs. The problem is that while much of the record is fairly enjoyable, an equal amount comes across as horribly smirky and self-aware — when the band gets down to bashing out solid rock tunes, it fares well, but Incognito sees them straying into unfocused or pretentious territories a bit too often.
