[Edit]Polygram Special Markets' The Best of the Ohio Players may not be a definitive collection by any means — "Fire," "Love Rollercoaster, " "Fopp, " "Sweet Sticky Thing" are all missing — but get beyond that flaw and the compilation seems perfectly adequate as a sampler, since it does boast such items as "Skin Tight, " "Who'd She Coo?, " "Feel the Beat (Everybody Disco)" and "O-H-I-O." It's still something only budget-minded casual fans will be interested in — collectors will have all the material and most casual fans will want all the hits if they're going to buy a hits collection — but it's not a bad listen at all. The cassette version of The Best of Ohio Players contains three fewer cuts than its CD counterpart; it's missing "Funk-O-Nots, " "Good Luck Charms" and "Sleepwalkin'."
