Motown the Musical tells the story of Motown Records' rise and its golden age, including a romance between label head Berry Gordy (played by Brandon Victor Dixon) and star Diana Ross (Valisia LeKae). Featuring a bright, talented group of actors and vocalists, the musical incorporates several essential Motown classics. This original cast recording includes songs by The Temptations, The Four Tops, The Supremes, Stevie Wonder, and Marvin Gaye, often combined into clever medleys. It also features two new songs cowritten by the real Berry Gordy: "Hey Joe (Black Like Me)" and "Can I Close the Door (On Love)."
