[Edit]As you might gather from the curious name, the Panoply Academy Glee Club are quite a unique and interesting band. Take the D.C. Dischord style and savvy of the Nation of Ulysses and intertwine the funky creativity of Modest Mouse, and you might be on the right track. The experimental tracks between songs really stand out — of the 23 tracks on this album, only ten are actual songs. The other 13 are odd instrumentals, each with a different concept or element, such as rhythmic whispering, television channel-changing feedback, the babble of an infant, atmospheric tones, and so on. Throughout the music, weird sound samples, keyboards, and even a trombone pop up amidst the driving quirky music. Definitely an album for those who like to hear something different and passionate.
