It's hard to imagine a parent who would be unhappy about the arrival of this morally sound tween pop trio. The flagship act on Advocate Entertainment's iShine imprint, the Rubyz — Cammie Hall, Alexis Slifer, and Marissa Milele — were hand-picked to fill a void for younger listeners. The girls range in age from 13 to 17 and are peppy enough to churn out magnetic pop music for a hungry young audience. The timing for such a disc was ideal. At its release, teens ruled the charts, with Miley Cyrus, the Jonas Brothers, Taylor Swift, Jordin Sparks, and Aly & A.J. ruling the charts. What distinguished this trio was its message of moral comfort and faith, a far cry from the materialistic call of Hannah Montana's Rockstar. Producer Chris Omartian (Hilary Duff, Pink, Jump5) and executive producer Joy Williams keep the sound contemporary and fresh. Where many Christian artists claim to be "the group that you and your mother will agree on," the Rubyz are the real deal. Their debut disc is pleasant, fresh, and fashionable.
